National Inspectorate

The National Inspectorate of the Agency ensures compliance with the provisions of the Milk (Regulation of Supply) Act, 1994 and the terms of registered contracts. It also ensures that accurate returns are made by processors to the Agency. The inspectors are instrumental in bringing greater transparency to the liquid milk sector on a national basis.

When inspecting records at the heat treatment establishments the inspectors audit the sources and sales of milk for liquid consumption.

There are correlated with the returns made by the processor to the Agency each month and also with the registered contracts. The performance of this role is undertaken in close co-operation with processors.
