The Fresh Milk Market

The fresh milk market is the largest consumer market for milk and milk products in the State with an estimated retail value of €509 million in 2020.

Irish consumers have one of the highest per capita consumptions of Fresh Milk in the world with an annual per capita consumption of 115 litres.

The National Milk Agency was established by the Oireachtas to regulate the supply of milk for liquid consumption throughout the State in accordance with the provisions of the Milk (Regulation of Supply) Act, 1994.
