Chief Executive

Dr. Muiris Ó Céidigh

(Maurice Keady)

Muiris Ó Céidigh is the Agency's founding Chief Executive. He was responsible for implementing the national regulatory system established by the Milk (Regulation of Supply) Act, 1994 within the liquid milk sector. He has extensive experience of public management and regulation. He holds a Doctorate in Governance from Queen's University Belfast.

As a solicitor with B.A. and LL.B. in law, prior to being appointed to the Agency, he was the first to be awarded the O'Reilly Prize in commercial law by Sir Anthony O'Reilly and subsequently gained extensive experience as a commercial lawyer specialising in banking and financial product development with one of Ireland's largest commercial law firms - A & L Goodbody. He has eighteen years experience as the regulator in the liquid milk sector.

He holds an M. Sc. (Econ)(Public Policy) and an MBA from Trinity College specialising in liquid milk product development at Avonmore Liquid Milk Division. He also holds an MA (Public Management) from the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). In 2008 he was elected a Fellow of the Irish Institute of Training and Development. He has several publications in law and economics.
